Equiliem Recognized with Top Safety Award by Marsh & McLennan
Equiliem selected from among 800 of their peers as a Minimizing Risk, Maximizing Health (MRMH) award recipient. Assurance, a Marsh & McLennan brokerage, recognized Equiliem for their focus on employee safety and well-being.
Equiliem is proud to be recognized for their persistence and dedication to worker safety. “We are relentless about doing everything in our control to create a safe and comfortable environment for our employees,” said Bradley Block, Chief Vision Officer at Equiliem.
Equiliem experienced a three-year upward tick in the frequency and severity of claims, despite following industry standard practices to manage risk. They implemented a highly effective plan that led to a significant reduction in claim frequency and worker’s compensation claims. Their plan included making strategic changes that would lead to sustainable work environments that were safer.
Actions included:
- Selecting the best partners and optimizing the use of their resources
- Negotiating and collaborating with clients on items ranging from contract language to safe operating practices, standard operating procedures, workplace safety training, and more
- Creating a strong internal team focused on reducing risk
- Moving beyond staffing industry guidelines to create operational controls specific to the risk tolerance level of the team
“This is an extraordinary honor that many team members played a role in obtaining. It shows that we all understand the responsibility and importance of building a safety culture by minimizing risk,” said Block. Block added that clients, insurance carriers, and insurance brokers came together to break down borders, collaboration, and partner with employee safety as a common goal. The case study is showcased on the Assurance website.
