About the Role

We are seeking a highly technical and experienced Senior Manager, Technical SEO to oversee technical SEO initiatives across large-scale streaming websites and digital platforms serving both domestic and international audiences.

This role sits at the intersection of SEO, Product, Engineering, and Technology and will be responsible for ensuring that SEO and emerging AI Discovery requirements are incorporated into product roadmaps, engineering workflows, site releases, and ongoing platform operations.

The ideal candidate has deep technical SEO expertise, experience working directly with Product and Engineering teams, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear requirements, documentation, tickets, and implementation plans.

This is a highly technical SEO role, rather than a traditional content or editorial SEO position. Success requires strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical workstreams in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical SEO strategy and execution across domestic and international streaming web properties.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to integrate SEO and AI Discovery requirements into product roadmaps, feature development, platform migrations, releases, and broader web initiatives.
  • Translate SEO requirements into clear and actionable documentation, including product requirements, Jira tickets, Confluence pages, technical specifications, QA checklists, and implementation guidance.
  • Serve as the technical SEO subject matter expert for Product, frontend engineering, and backend engineering teams, particularly around crawlability, rendering, indexing, and site architecture.
  • Own recurring crawl monitoring, technical SEO audits, and issue triage using tools such as Botify, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, analytics platforms, server logs, and crawl data.
  • Monitor website releases, platform changes, and production updates to identify SEO risks, support release QA, validate requirements, and coordinate fixes before and after launch.
  • Analyze technical SEO and website data to identify issues, performance risks, and opportunities for organic growth.
  • Support international SEO initiatives, including hreflang, localization considerations, regional URL structures, and scalable multi-market implementations.
  • Provide guidance on JavaScript SEO, including rendering behavior, client-side versus server-side rendering, hydration, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Ensure key pages and content are accessible and optimized for search engines, AI crawlers, LLMs, AI agents, and other emerging discovery systems.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to establish and maintain appropriate crawler and SERP governance practices.
  • Support release QA, regression testing, site audits, monitoring workflows, and technical issue escalation.
  • Stay current on developments in SEO, web technology, AI search, LLM crawlers, agentic browsing, and generative search experiences, translating emerging trends into practical recommendations.
  • Manage multiple technical projects, stakeholders, priorities, and workstreams simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of SEO experience, with a strong focus on technical SEO.
  • Hands-on experience managing technical SEO for large-scale, enterprise, multi-market, or global websites.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, including:
    • Crawlability and indexability
    • Rendering
    • JavaScript SEO
    • Canonicalization
    • Redirects
    • Metadata
    • Internal linking
    • Structured data
    • XML sitemaps
    • Pagination
    • Site performance
    • Site architecture
  • Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, and index JavaScript-based websites.
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks and server-side rendering concepts.
  • Experience working directly with Product, Engineering, and QA teams in Agile development environments.
  • Ability to translate SEO requirements into clear product requirements, technical specifications, Jira tickets, Confluence documentation, QA plans, and implementation guidance.
  • Strong understanding of international SEO, including hreflang, regional URL structures, localization, and global site management.
  • Experience with technical SEO tools such as Botify, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.
  • Experience analyzing crawl data, server logs, bot user agents, search performance data, indexation signals, and other technical SEO outputs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical SEO and AI Discovery concepts to engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to manage technical SEO workflows, documentation, audits, monitoring, and implementation follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and working with large datasets.
  • Ability to balance strategic SEO priorities with hands-on technical execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large-scale streaming, entertainment, media, publishing, or other high-traffic digital platforms.
  • Experience supporting international or multi-region websites.
  • Experience with AI Discovery, including:
    • LLM crawlers
    • AI search visibility
    • Answer engines
