Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AV Project Manager to lead the successful planning, execution, and closeout of large-scale commercial audiovisual installation projects in Suwanee, GA. This role oversees the full project lifecycle, including presales planning, implementation, commissioning, documentation, client communication, and post-installation support. The AV Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, within scope, and to a high technical standard while coordinating field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customer stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of commercial AV systems, hands-on experience with Crestron and Extron platforms, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of commercial AV installation projects from presales planning through closeout and post-installation support.
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and documentation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee AV system installations and integrations, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Apply technical knowledge of Crestron, Extron, DSPs, displays, speakers, projectors, cabling, commissioning, and TV mounting solutions to support project success.
  • Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and other project resources to maintain progress and resolve issues proactively.
  • Monitor project budgets, purchase orders, billing schedules, proposals, and change orders to support financial accuracy and project performance.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive and corrective actions to minimize delays, disruptions, and cost overruns.
  • Ensure all AV systems are tested, calibrated, and commissioned to meet customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, including project updates, issue resolution, and expectation management.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project records, including schematics, programming documentation, as-built drawings, user manuals, and status reports.
  • Provide training and post-installation support to clients and address warranty or service-related issues as needed.
  • Support account growth by maintaining strong customer relationships and identifying additional project opportunities.
  • Enforce job site safety practices and promote compliance with applicable standards and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or college coursework preferred.
  • 5 years of experience managing commercial AV installation projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • 5-10 years of overall AV industry experience preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the commercial AV industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial AV systems, including Crestron and Extron programming, DSPs, displays, speakers, projectors, cabling, commissioning, and TV mounting solutions.
  • Familiarity with AV integration standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, purchase orders, proposals, billing schedules, and change orders.
  • Experience coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple active projects.
  • Strong understanding of risk identification, quality assurance processes, and corrective action planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate project documentation, data, and reporting systems.
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of networking and IT fundamentals related to AV systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of voice, data, fiber, and wireless installation projects preferred.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites as required.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk job sites.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree or associate degree preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial AV installation projects.
  • 5-10 years of AV industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in large-scale commercial AV environments required.
