Job Summary

The Production Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, fitting, and mounting electrical components and sub-assemblies used in electrical control equipment, including panelboards and switchboards. This role performs product assembly, inspection, testing, and material handling activities while following electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.

The ideal candidate has hands-on assembly experience, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and can work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, fit, and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies used in electrical control equipment.
• Assemble panelboards and switchboards according to customer specifications, electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions.
• Use hand tools and power tools to complete electrical and mechanical assembly activities.
• Perform electrical wiring using tools such as wire strippers, pliers, and other required equipment.
• Prepare assembled products for testing and final inspection.
• Inspect and test finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Use established power-checking procedures and equipment to verify the electrical and mechanical integrity of assembled units.
• Maintain expected production progress and communicate part shortages, quality concerns, and other production issues to the appropriate team members.
• Receive and put away materials and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas according to established 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve quality, work processes, safety, and efficiency.
• Cross-train and support multiple production functions based on business and operational needs.
• Follow all established health, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Participate in required safety training, site meetings, and team meetings.
• Help maintain a safe work environment by identifying and reporting unsafe practices or conditions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in an assembly-related role using hand and/or power tools.
• Experience in automotive repair, construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or a similar hands-on assembly environment will be considered.
• Ability to follow manufacturing drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, including reading and following instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and adapt to changing production demands.
• Ability to maintain quality and productivity standards while performing assigned work.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of the work location.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow.
• Experience installing and routing electrical wiring.
• Experience with measuring tools, torque requirements, and hardware assembly.
• Experience with CNC bus fabrication, press brakes, or related manufacturing equipment.
• Experience using tools and equipment such as manual and electric tools, drill presses, press brakes, forklifts, jib cranes, templates, fixtures, hand carts, tape measures, and packaging materials.
• Familiarity with required personal protective equipment and manufacturing safety practices.
