Government Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

Government programs support essential services that communities, agencies, and public institutions depend on every day. Whether supporting national defense, public health, infrastructure, emergency response, or administrative operations, those programs depend on qualified professionals who are ready to perform when the work begins. When critical positions remain unfilled, contract performance, regulatory compliance, and service delivery can all be affected.

Equiliem supports the workforce behind the government programs and public services essential to North America’s critical infrastructure through specialized government staffing and workforce solutions. We partner with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as prime contractors, to help strengthen operational continuity by connecting them with professionals who meet mission, contractual, and compliance requirements.

Our evaluation process goes beyond resumes. We assess each candidate’s experience, technical capabilities, and alignment with the responsibilities of the position. When roles require background investigations, security clearances, certifications, or other qualifications, we coordinate the applicable screening and verification requirements with the appropriate client and security personnel.

Executive Search

Program directors and senior managers typically change roles through quiet conversations rather than postings. Effective government headhunters understand that experienced program leaders are often reached through relationships rather than job postings. Our team maintains connections across agencies and government contractors, helping us discreetly engage leaders whose program experience and capabilities align with the mission.

Why trust Equiliem with your government roles

Government programs depend on rigorous compliance and documentation throughout the hiring process. Equiliem participates in E-Verify and conducts applicable background screening and fingerprinting in accordance with role requirements and applicable law. For roles requiring security eligibility or access, we coordinate confirmation of the candidate’s applicable status through authorized security personnel and the appropriate government process. Where a position requires a background investigation, we help candidates assemble complete and accurate documentation. Where a role or contract is subject to Service Contract Act or Davis-Bacon requirements, we understand the applicable wage and classification requirements and have processes to support compliance. Candidate information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy, contractual and information-security requirements, and documentation is maintained so it is ready when an auditor or a contracting officer’s representative asks for it.

See what our government clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

We won the recompete and then it got real, because we had six weeks to fill eleven positions and every one needed a background check. Equiliem had people moving through screening within days, and nine of the eleven were badged before the period of performance started. The other two were close behind. I have run transitions where we started short-staffed, and I can tell you this one felt different.
Marcus W., Program Manager at a federal prime contractor
What I appreciate is they understood the wage determination before I explained it. Our last agency kept submitting people at rates that didn't map to the labor categories, and I was the one catching it. With Equiliem the paperwork came in right the first time, and when the auditors looked at our files last year it went smoothly.
Elaine R., Contracts Director at a government services firm
We're a small county HR shop, two of us, and when a department head calls with a vacancy it lands on my desk on top of everything else. Equiliem sends me three or four people who have actually worked in the public sector, not thirty resumes to sort. The last two hires are still here, and honestly that's the number I get judged on.
Dana K., HR Director at a county government
I was skeptical about using a recruiter for a director role because our board likes to see a public process. Equiliem worked inside our rules, brought candidates we would never have reached through a posting, and the person we hired had been running a comparable program two states over. Eight months in, the board chair still brings it up.

We've completed searches for a variety of government roles

Program Manager

A mid-size prime won a five-year infrastructure support contract and had 45 days to stand up the program office before the period of performance opened. We placed a program manager with agency-side experience in 31 days, early enough that she ran the kickoff meeting herself. The transition-in plan was accepted on the first submission, which for a new prime on that contract vehicle was the outcome they were most nervous about.

Contract Specialist

A state authority's procurement office was down two specialists in the middle of a construction season, and solicitations had started slipping past their advertised dates. We placed a specialist who had run public bids before in 16 days, and the two solicitations that had been sitting went out within her first month. The backlog never made it onto a board meeting agenda, which is where these things tend to become expensive.

Systems Administrator

A subcontractor lost a systems administrator mid-task-order and could not fill the seat with someone who did not hold the eligibility the work required, so the seat just sat. We submitted a qualified candidate in nine days whose existing eligibility supported an efficient security onboarding process, and he was badged and working inside a month. The prime never had to report the vacancy as a staffing risk on the monthly status report.

Contracts Administrator

A county procurement office lost its senior contracts administrator two months before its largest renewal cycle, which is roughly the worst two months to lose one. We placed an administrator who had run public contracts before in 19 days, and the renewals went to the board on schedule. The finance director told us afterward the hearings were the quietest part of her year, which had not been the plan back in June.

Frequently asked questions about government recruiting

For Employers

Depends on the screening the seat requires. An administrative or analyst role with a standard background check can typically be filled within one to two weeks. A position that needs existing eligibility is a smaller pool, figure two to three weeks, and we will tell you which one you are in before you build a schedule around it.
