Job Summary
The Warehouse Loader is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, product handling, inventory support, repackaging, and warehouse maintenance. This labor-intensive role requires strict attention to order accuracy, safe material handling, product rotation, and compliance with shipping and receiving documentation. The Warehouse Loader uses warehouse equipment, including forklifts and electronic pallet jacks, to build and move loads while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Load bulk and route trucks accurately according to order sheets and established warehouse procedures.
- Select designated products and packages from the warehouse and load them into assigned truck bays.
- Build and organize loads based on customer and sales orders.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks while maintaining order accuracy.
- Operate a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack as required.
- Verify loading activities against shipping and receiving documentation.
- Confirm trucks are loaded accurately and according to established requirements.
- Rotate products in trucks and warehouse locations according to expiration dates.
- Clean and repackage products in accordance with established standards.
- Identify and properly handle damaged or out-of-date products according to established procedures and management approval.
- Dispose of approved damaged or out-of-date products appropriately.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness by removing trash, sweeping floors, and operating floor-cleaning equipment as needed.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete daily warehouse activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screening and background requirements.
- Forklift skills assessment may be required.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accuracy when completing loading and warehouse tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Warehouse, product storage, product staging, or loading and unloading experience preferred.
- Forklift experience, including safely maneuvering, lifting, lowering, and moving materials in warehouse environments, preferred.
- Experience loading and unloading pallets and maximizing storage through proper stacking practices preferred.
- English language proficiency preferred; additional language skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and move products weighing approximately 20 to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform frequent repetitive lifting and material handling during extended work periods.
- Regular use of hands and arms to handle, move, and position products and materials.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment and commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions as required.
- Ability to perform the visual requirements necessary for safe warehouse operations, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
