Construction Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

An unfilled construction role can lead to crews standing idle, trades falling out of sequence and delays that compound across the project schedule. A pour set for six in the morning needs finishers at five thirty, and drywall cannot hang until the rough-in passes inspection.

Equiliem evaluates safety card currency, trade licensure and demonstrated experience in similar project environments to help contractors identify people a superintendent can put to work on day one.

Many organizations turn to us after internal recruiting efforts have failed to reach qualified construction professionals, most of whom are already employed on someone else’s project and not actively searching job boards. Contractors rely on workforce continuity to maintain project schedules, safety performance and owner commitments. Equiliem supports construction leaders with staffing, recruiting, credentialing and workforce solutions scaled to your job.

Direct Hire Recruiting

For long-term hiring needs, we help contractors identify superintendents, project managers, estimators and working foremen whose experience aligns with your project types and delivery method. A specialized construction recruiter evaluates candidates based on the scale and complexity of their project experience. Construction headhunters know that the strongest superintendents, project managers and field leaders are usually busy delivering someone else's project. Our recruiters maintain relationships across contractors, project types and markets, helping us engage proven professionals whose experience aligns with the scale and complexity of the work ahead.

Why trust Equiliem with your construction roles

Construction sites check credentials at the gate, so the documentation has to be in order before anyone mobilizes. Our screening is tailored to the role and assignment: we screen for relevant experience and qualifications, review available documentation, and coordinate applicable client-specific requirements. Depending on the role, that may include OSHA 10 for workers and OSHA 30 for supervisors, trade licenses, NCCER credentials, equipment and fall protection training records, background checks, drug screening and employment eligibility verification.

See what our construction clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

We had a pour at six and my finishing crew texted me at nine the night before that they'd taken another job. I called Equiliem first thing and had five guys on that slab inside the week, carded and ready. I have been in concrete twenty-two years and that has never happened with any other agency, and I have tried most of them.
Ray D., Owner at a concrete subcontractor
Superintendents are the hardest hire in this business because the good ones are all running somebody's job. Equiliem found us a super who wasn't looking, wasn't posted anywhere, just the right guy at the right moment in his career. Fifty-some days start to finish. Our last super search before that took us seven months and we settled.
Carla V., VP of Operations at a general contractor
The thing I'd tell you is their paperwork is clean. Every laborer Equiliem sends shows up with the OSHA card in hand and the drug screen done, and when the owner's rep audits the badging file there's nothing missing. I've had agencies where the labor was fine and the file was a disaster. This is the first one where both are right.
Miguel A., Site Safety Manager at a commercial builder
We staff up and down with the backlog, sometimes forty heads, sometimes twelve. Equiliem flexes with us and doesn't get sloppy when we're growing fast, which is when it usually goes wrong. Show rates have been strong enough that I stopped padding my counts, and if you run field crews you know what that's worth.
Steve K., General Superintendent at an industrial contractor

Equiliem is there when you need us

For more than 30 years, Equiliem has operated as a family-owned company supporting the workforce behind North America’s critical infrastructure: plants, substations, distribution centers, and the buildings a region runs on. We field single tradespeople and full crews, short- and long-term, with applicable credential documentation reviewed ahead of mobilization and continued engagement after the placement.

We've completed searches for a variety of construction roles

Construction Superintendent

A general contractor had a tilt-wall distribution center starting in nine weeks and their intended super took a competitor's offer. We ran the search quietly and placed a superintendent with three comparable buildings behind him in 33 days, with a week to spare before mobilization. The job delivered on schedule, and the owner group has since asked for him by name on the next one.

Corporate Safety Director

A contractor moving into heavier industrial work needed a safety director in place before its first plant shutdown. We placed one with turnaround experience in 21 days. The shutdown finished with no recordable incidents, and the contractor has since been approved on two more sites.

Estimator

A commercial general contractor was turning down invitations to bid because its one estimator could not keep up with the pipeline. We placed an estimator with comparable project values in 18 days. Bid volume recovered the following quarter, and two of those bids converted.

Project Manager

A mid-size GC promoted their best PM to operations and needed a replacement who could carry three active jobs at once. We closed the search in 28 days with a PM out of a larger firm who wanted projects he could actually own. All three jobs closed out within margin, which had not happened for that GC in two years.

Frequently asked questions about construction recruiting

For Employers

Laborers and carded tradespeople, typically two to five days. Licensed trades, one to three weeks. A superintendent or PM search runs three to five weeks done properly, and we would rather quote that honestly than promise a miracle.
