Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday; standard hours 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, with schedule varying based on delivery requirements
Pay: $29.00 – $31.00 per hour

Job Summary
The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting fire sprinkler pipe and related installation supplies to customer and job-site locations within an approximately 5-hour delivery radius. The position is primarily driving-focused, with approximately 90%-95% of the workday spent driving and 5%-10% supporting warehouse activities such as staging orders and loading or unloading materials. The successful candidate will provide dependable, professional customer service while ensuring materials are safely secured, accurately delivered, and properly documented.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including single-axle and tandem-axle flatbed trucks and automatic 48-foot tractor-trailers.
• Deliver fire sprinkler pipe and installation supplies according to scheduled delivery times.
• Drive within an approximately 5-hour delivery radius based on assigned routes.
• Inspect, secure, and verify loads before and during transportation.
• Load, unload, or assist with unloading materials as required.
• Stage orders and assist with warehouse activities as needed.
• Validate delivery directions and confirm delivery locations.
• Obtain customer signatures and ensure delivery tickets are complete and accurate.
• Pick up customer returns and verify materials against applicable return documentation.
• Pick up local customer orders and secure required packing lists.
• Verify that all materials have been unloaded and placed at the designated delivery location.
• Complete and return delivery documentation to the warehouse.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety requirements.
• Fuel assigned vehicles as needed.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, moving violations, or other safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding deliveries, delays, route issues, and other operational matters.
• Provide professional customer service and represent the organization appropriately when interacting with customers.
• Follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and operating requirements.
• Work overtime as needed based on delivery requirements.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience driving the class of vehicle assigned to the position.
• Minimum 1 year of experience holding a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Valid state-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification designation required, with proof provided.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to safely operate automatic-transmission commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks and tractor-trailers.
• Strong smartphone and mobile technology skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious work habits.
• Ability to safely load, unload, secure, and handle materials.
• Ability to comply with DOT regulations and required vehicle inspection procedures.
• Ability to read and complete delivery documentation accurately.
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively.
• Ability to perform occasional warehouse and material-handling duties.
• Moffett experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Class A CDL driving experience required.
• Experience operating flatbed trucks or tractor-trailers preferred.
• Experience transporting construction, industrial, plumbing, fire protection, or similar materials preferred.
• Moffett or forklift experience preferred.
