Transportation Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

An overhead view of articulated lorries backed into a row of loading bays

An unfilled driving seat can lead to parked capital, uncovered lanes and service failures. Transportation hiring operates within a strict compliance framework that generalist staffing tends to underestimate, and the CDL is only the beginning of it.

Equiliem screens for driver qualification, safety history and regulatory standing to help fleets identify people whose documentation is in order when they are presented. Many organizations turn to us after an expired medical card or an unexpected motor vehicle record has already cost them a start date. Fleets and carriers rely on workforce continuity to maintain lane coverage, DOT compliance and customer service commitments.

Equiliem supports transportation leaders with scalable staffing, recruiting, credentialing and workforce solutions covering seasonal surges, dedicated routes and your permanent roster.

We offer a range of transportation services

Contract Staffing

When produce season or a new dedicated route outruns your driver roster, Equiliem supplies qualified CDL drivers screened for the engagement. For driving roles we coordinate the applicable driver qualification screening for the engagement, including licensing, driving record, medical qualification and drug and alcohol program requirements.

Direct Hire Recruiting

For long-term hiring needs, we help fleets identify drivers, dispatchers and driver managers whose qualifications align with your lanes and equipment. A specialized transportation recruiter coordinates the applicable regulatory screening up front to avoid repeat searches. Transportation headhunters need to understand that strong fleet, safety and terminal leaders are measured by more than headcount. Our recruiters maintain relationships across the transportation industry, helping us engage experienced leaders whose backgrounds in safety, compliance, fleet performance and operations align with the challenges they would inherit.

Build Your Team

Workforce Management

As transportation programs scale, workforce complexity can grow alongside them. Equiliem helps organizations manage contingent labor through Employer of Record and payrolling solutions, independent contractor (IC) compliance, and other workforce management solutions designed to create greater consistency, visibility, and control.

Whether supporting specialized project talent, former employees returning as consultants, or workers sourced directly by your team, we help manage the employment, onboarding, compliance, and administrative responsibilities behind the workforce. The result is a more structured approach that helps transportation organizations access the talent they need while reducing administrative burden and supporting program continuity.

Why trust Equiliem with your transportation roles

Driver qualification is set by federal regulation, and the motor carrier of record holds the driver qualification file. Our screening is tailored to the role and the engagement: we screen for relevant experience and qualifications, review available documentation, and coordinate the applicable driver qualification screening with you and the responsible motor carrier. Depending on the employment arrangement, that may include CDL class and endorsement verification including hazmat and tanker where your freight requires them, motor vehicle record review, medical qualification status, Clearinghouse requirements, drug and alcohol testing, and prior-employer safety information, along with employment eligibility verification and background screening for non-driving candidates.

See what our transportation clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

I have had staffing agencies send me drivers who could not pass a Clearinghouse query, after I had already promised the customer the capacity. Equiliem coordinates the Clearinghouse step, the driving record and the med card with us before I ever see a name, and in two years not one file has come up short. That is not a small thing in this business, that is the business.
Bill T., Director of Safety at a regional carrier
Produce season used to mean choosing which customer to disappoint. This year Equiliem had four drivers seated before the lanes tightened and we hauled everything we committed to. My sales guy actually complained he could have sold more capacity, which is a problem I will happily take.
Rosa M., Fleet Manager at a refrigerated carrier
The terminal manager they found me had run a dock, not just read about one, and the crew could tell within a shift. Late freight went from a nightly thing to an exception. I had almost given up on that terminal, truthfully.
Chuck E., VP of Operations at an LTL carrier
We bring on seasonal drivers every year and Equiliem has become the only call I make. The files are always complete, the drivers show up when dispatch expects them, and a couple have converted to our permanent roster. Consistent is the highest compliment I give a vendor.

Equiliem is there when you need us

For more than 30 years, Equiliem has operated as a family-owned company supporting the workforce behind North America’s critical infrastructure. Drivers are one of its most visible aspects, considering nearly everything on a shelf rode on a truck to get there. We place across the occupation, from seasonal CDL drivers to terminal and fleet leadership, with applicable qualification and screening requirements coordinated for the engagement.

We've completed searches for a variety of transportation roles

CDL-A Drivers, Produce Season

A refrigerated carrier needed four additional drivers before produce season tightened every lane they ran. We delivered all four in 12 days, with the applicable driver qualification screening coordinated with the carrier before dispatch saw them. The carrier covered its seasonal commitments without turning down freight, which the year before it had not managed.

Fleet Manager

A private fleet's CSA scores had drifted into the range where customers start asking questions. We placed a fleet manager in 28 days who had cleaned up scores at a larger operation. Within three quarters the scores were back under threshold, and the customer questions stopped.

Safety Manager

A carrier came through a DOT compliance review with findings and a deadline to fix them. We placed a safety manager in 21 days who rebuilt the driver qualification files and the drug-and-alcohol program documentation. The follow-up review closed with no further findings, which was the entire assignment in one sentence.

Terminal Manager

A regional LTL carrier's busiest terminal had churned through two managers in a year, and the dock was running late freight nightly. We took 28 days to find a manager with real dock and P&L experience. Six months later the terminal's load-average and on-time numbers were the best in their network.
