HVAC and Plumbing Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

An unfilled HVAC or plumbing role can lead to missed service calls, extended downtime in occupied buildings, added pressure on the remaining technicians and inspection bottlenecks that put deadlines at risk. A failing rooftop unit won’t wait to break until you’ve gathered applicants, nor will a hospital boiler due for inspection.

Equiliem screens for licensure, refrigerant certification and diagnostic capability to help service companies and mechanical contractors identify technicians who can work in an occupied building with the customer watching. HVAC and plumbing qualifications vary by role and jurisdiction. Technicians who handle regulated refrigerants may require EPA Section 608 certification, plumbing licensure is governed at the state or local level, and industry credentials such as NATE can provide additional evidence of technical expertise. Equiliem supports these organizations with scalable staffing, recruiting, credentialing and workforce solutions that match seasonal demand.

Direct Hire Recruiting

For long-term hiring needs, we help organizations identify service technicians, journeyman and master plumbers and installers whose licensure and experience align with your equipment mix and customer base. A specialized HVAC and plumbing recruiter reviews credential documentation before an interview and then screens for what licenses cannot show. HVAC and plumbing headhunters need networks that extend beyond professionals actively searching for work. Our recruiters maintain relationships with experienced service technicians, licensed plumbers and trade leaders, helping us reach professionals whose credentials, diagnostic capabilities and customer experience align with the work our clients need performed.

Why trust Equiliem with your HVAC and plumbing roles

The licenses in this trade are specific to the jurisdiction, and the documentation matters. Our screening is tailored to the role and assignment: we screen for relevant experience and qualifications, review available documentation, and coordinate applicable client-specific requirements. Depending on the role and jurisdiction, that may include journeyman and master plumbing licenses, EPA 608 documentation for candidates who handle refrigerant, NATE certification, backflow prevention credentials, gas licensing, OSHA 10 course completion, background checks, drug screening and employment eligibility verification.

See what our HVAC and plumbing clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Losing two senior techs in May is about the worst timing this trade can hand you. Equiliem had a certified guy running calls in eleven days and I want to stress, certified, with the 608 card in the file, not promised. We kept every contract through the summer. I'd braced for a much worse season than we had.
Pete N., Owner at a commercial HVAC company
For hospital work the paper has to be perfect, med gas certs, licenses, background checks, all of it, because the GC audits everything twice. All four plumbers Equiliem sent were clean on the first review. In fifteen years of running mechanical projects I can count the agencies that pull that off on one hand, with fingers left over.
Joanne T., Project Manager at a mechanical contractor
Equiliem asked me questions no agency ever asked, like whether I needed an installer or a diagnostician, which if you run a service department you know is the whole question. The tech they placed can actually troubleshoot, not just swap parts until the problem goes away. My callback rate on his tickets is the lowest on the board.
Curtis E., Service Manager at a mechanical services firm
Finding a master plumber willing to move was something I'd tried and given up on twice. Equiliem found one who wasn't even looking, worked it quietly so nobody's applecart got upset, and we were licensed in the new county by spring. Patient, professional, and worth the fee, which I don't say lightly about anybody.

We've completed searches for a variety of HVAC and plumbing roles

HVAC Service Technician

A commercial service company lost two senior techs in the same May, right as the first heat wave loaded the board with no-cool calls. We placed one EPA-certified, NATE-certified tech in 11 days and a second within the month, both screened before interview. The company got through the season without dropping a maintenance contract, which is what the owner had feared most.

Master Plumber

A mechanical contractor could not bid municipal work in a neighboring county without a master plumber to hold the license. We ran the search discreetly and closed it in 33 days with a master who wanted off the tools and onto permits and supervision. The contractor prequalified for county work the following quarter.

Journeyman Plumbers (crew of four)

A hospital central plant retrofit needed four licensed journeymen for a six-month medical gas and domestic water package. We fielded four licensed journeymen in 16 days, including two who held the medical gas certifications that scope requires. The package passed every inspection on the first pass, and the GC noted it in the closeout.

Boiler Technician

A university plant had one technician qualified on their high-pressure boilers and he announced retirement with a semester's notice. We placed a boiler technician with a high-pressure operator's license in 28 days, giving the plant a full semester of overlap for the handoff. The retiring tech left on schedule and nothing about the heating season changed, which was the entire goal.

Frequently asked questions about HVAC and plumbing recruiting

For Employers

An EPA-carded HVAC tech for contract work, often one to two weeks, and licensed journeyman plumbers about the same. A master plumber or a high-pressure boiler specialist is a search of three to five weeks, and we will say so on day one.
