Automotive & EV Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

An unfilled role on an automotive line can lead to immediate overtime, launch delays and increased pressure across the plant. Many suppliers and OEMs engage a specialized workforce partner when they have a launch date set before their line is fully staffed.

Equiliem reviews platform experience, certifications and program history to understand each candidate’s real-world qualifications: which PLC platforms a controls engineer has programmed, whether an EV technician’s high-voltage safety training is current and whether a quality engineer has carried a PPAP through approval.

Many organizations turn to us after internal recruiting efforts have failed to produce qualified applicants. Suppliers and OEMs rely on workforce continuity to maintain production schedules, customer commitments and performance standards. Equiliem supports manufacturers with scalable staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions that help plant leaders maintain stability through changeovers and launches.

Executive Search

Plant managers who have launched a vehicle or battery program are rarely between roles. Our automotive executive search reaches them through targeted, confidential outreach, so the vacancy never appears in a competitor's news feed. Automotive headhunters know that leaders with successful launch and transformation experience are rarely between programs. Our team maintains relationships across OEMs, suppliers and emerging EV operations, helping us engage experienced leaders whose background with comparable platforms, launches and plant environments aligns with the work ahead.

Why trust Equiliem with your automotive & EV roles

Automotive and EV environments combine safety training, equipment qualification and customer-specific onboarding, and most launch schedules leave little room for paperwork delays. Our screening is tailored to the role and assignment: we screen for relevant experience and qualifications, review available documentation, and coordinate applicable client-specific credentialing, screening, training and onboarding requirements. Depending on the role, that may include weld certifications, powered industrial truck and crane operator training, OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 course completion, high-voltage electrical safety training, background screening, drug testing and employment eligibility verification.

See what our automotive & EV clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

We lost our controls guy with the tryout already on the calendar, and I genuinely thought the date was gone. The engineer that Equiliem placed had done our exact PLC platform and was writing logic in the first week. We made the tryout. I don't hand out credit easily but they earned that one.
Tony R., Launch Manager at a tier one supplier
High-voltage work scares me more than anything else in the plant, and it should. Every tech that Equiliem placed showed up with their safety training documentation in hand, before they touched a pack. My audits have been quiet since, and quiet is the entire goal of my job.
Sandra M., EHS Manager at a battery plant
Takt doesn't care about anyone's feelings, and some people just can't live at that pace. The supervisors that Equiliem placed understood line-side reality from day one, when to escalate, when to just fix it. Our second shift has stopped churning, which I'd half given up on.
Luis C., Production Manager at an assembly plant
We've pulled surge crews from Equiliem through two model changeovers now. Both times the people arrived screened, on the day promised, and the ones we wanted to keep, we kept, the conversion was painless. That's why the third changeover isn't going out to bid.

We've completed searches for a variety of automotive & EV roles

Controls Engineer

A tier one supplier was six weeks from a launch tryout with its lead controls engineer suddenly gone to a competitor. We placed an engineer in 19 days who had programmed the same PLC platform on two prior launches. The tryout ran on schedule, and the customer buy-off closed without the delay everyone had quietly started planning around.

Battery Module Assembler

A battery plant needed twelve assemblers with high-voltage awareness training before start of production, and the local applicant pool was already picked over. We delivered the full crew across three weeks, every one screened and safety-trained before badging. The line hit its first saleable module on the planned date, which in a launch year counted as news.

Quality Engineer

A stamping supplier had a PPAP backlog threatening two program approvals and no bandwidth to work it. We placed a quality engineer in 18 days who had submitted PPAPs to that customer before and knew their portal's quirks. Both approvals landed on time, and the customer's supplier quality engineer moved on to worrying about someone else.

Plant Manager

A 600-person powertrain plant needed a leader after a retirement, in the middle of converting a third of its floor to EV components. We closed the search in 33 days with a manager who had run a similar conversion. A year later the converted lines are at rate and the plant kept its customer allocation through the transition.
