Renewable Energy Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

A solar array in the foreground with wind turbines on the hills behind it

An unfilled role on a renewable project can lead to missed energization deadlines, compressed commissioning windows, added pressure on traveling crews and delays that put commercial milestones and project returns at risk. Solar and storage projects race toward placed-in-service deadlines where every milestone matters, and wind work compresses into the months when a technician can safely climb a 300-foot tower.

Equiliem evaluates safety training, certification, height and high-voltage qualification and professional readiness to help developers and operators identify people who can mobilize on a project schedule.

Many organizations turn to us after internal recruiting efforts have not produced experienced professionals, most of whom are already committed to a project elsewhere. Developers, EPCs and asset owners rely on workforce continuity to maintain construction schedules, commissioning quality and fleet production. Equiliem supports these organizations with scalable staffing, recruiting, credentialing and workforce solutions that move at project speed.

We offer a range of renewable energy services

Contract Staffing

Whether supporting a construction ramp, a commissioning window or a seasonal maintenance campaign, Equiliem provides technicians, electricians and site support screened for the qualifications the work requires. Our renewable energy staffing scales with the project and supports the transition through commercial operation.

Direct Hire Recruiting

For long-term hiring needs on an operating fleet, we help owners identify wind technicians, plant operators and asset engineers whose experience aligns with your technology and maintenance model. A specialized renewable energy recruiter evaluates candidates against the assets they would actually maintain after the construction crews leave.

Build Your Team

Executive Search

Development VPs, asset management directors and O&M leaders in renewables are rarely pursuing new opportunities. Our renewable energy executive search identifies and engages them through targeted, confidential outreach. Renewable energy headhunters operate in a fast-moving market where experienced leaders often move between developers, EPCs, asset owners and operating fleets. Our team builds relationships across that ecosystem, helping us engage development, asset management and O&M leaders whose experience aligns with where an organization is headed next.

Why trust Equiliem with your renewable energy roles

Work at height and at high voltage carries qualification requirements that have to be addressed before mobilization. Our screening is tailored to the role and assignment: we screen for relevant experience and qualifications, review available safety-training documentation, and coordinate applicable client-specific requirements. Depending on the role, that may include GWO basic safety training, tower climbing and rescue certification, current first aid and CPR cards for wind roles, NABCEP certifications for solar and storage roles that call for them, state electrical licenses, NFPA 70E training, OSHA 10 or 30 completion, aerial lift qualifications, CDLs for anyone moving equipment, background checks and drug screening.

See what our renewable energy clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

We were staring at a December 31 deadline with a commissioning crew that was twelve people short, and every EPC in the country was hunting the same techs. Equiliem had them on site in three weeks, credentials checked, ready to work. We energized with two days to spare. I do not want to think about what missing that date would have cost us.
Marcus E., Project Manager at a solar EPC
I climb towers for a living so I care a lot about who is on the rope team with me, and I have seen agencies send guys whose rescue cert expired a year ago. Every tech Equiliem has sent up had current GWO and rescue, with the cards to show for it, not just a claim on a resume. As the guy running the site, that lets me actually sleep the night before a campaign starts.
Josh B., Site Supervisor at a wind operator
Retention is the thing nobody talks about in renewables, everybody can find you a tech, keeping one is the trick. The O&M manager Equiliem placed has been here over a year and my turnover on that site basically stopped. They asked me questions about culture that no staffing firm had ever asked, and it clearly was not for show.
Elena F., Director of Asset Management at a renewables owner
We build in six states and I used to rebuild my labor plan from scratch every time we broke ground somewhere new. Now it is one call to the same team, and they already know our safety program and our paperwork. Boring in the best possible way, project after project.

Equiliem is there when you need us

For more than 30 years, Equiliem has supported the workforce behind North America’s critical infrastructure, and renewable generation is an increasingly significant aspect of our work. As a family-owned company, we can move at project speed, supporting short- and long-term hiring from traveling commissioning technicians to the leaders who run an operating fleet, with applicable screening coordinated for the assignment.

We've completed searches for a variety of renewable energy roles

Commissioning Technicians, Utility-Scale Solar

A 200-megawatt site in the Southwest was chasing a year-end energization with its commissioning crew understaffed by a dozen. We fielded twelve technicians in three weeks, with credential documentation reviewed ahead of mobilization. The site energized on December 29, and the developer's next project came to us before it broke ground.

Wind Turbine Technicians, Blade Campaign

An operator planned a summer blade repair campaign across two sites and needed four traveling techs with current GWO and rescue certifications. We placed all four inside a month, screened for current GWO and rescue certification. The campaign wrapped before the fall winds picked up, which is the entire point of scheduling blade work in summer.

O&M Manager, Wind Fleet

A fleet owner had run a flagship site through two interim managers in eighteen months, and availability was drifting the wrong way. We closed a direct placement O&M manager in 33 days, someone who had run the same turbine platform elsewhere. Availability improved over the following two quarters, and the technicians stopped leaving, which was the quieter problem underneath.

High-Voltage Electricians, Battery Storage Project

A storage project's substation tie-in had a fixed outage window with the interconnecting utility, the kind of date you do not get back for months if you miss it. We placed three licensed high-voltage electricians in two weeks. The tie-in finished inside its window, and the project met its commercial operation date.

Frequently asked questions about renewable energy recruiting

For Employers

That is most of what we do in this sector. With three weeks’ notice we can field screened commissioning techs and electricians; give us six and the whole roster is screened and documented early.
