Defense Staffing with Dedicated Recruiters

Defense programs depend on qualified professionals who can meet demanding technical, security, and contractual requirements. When critical positions remain unfilled, the effects can extend across program schedules, customer commitments, operational readiness, and mission delivery.

Equiliem supports the workforce behind North America’s critical defense infrastructure through specialized defense staffing and workforce solutions. We partner with prime contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, and other defense organizations to connect them with professionals whose experience aligns with the program, position, and applicable security requirements.

Our evaluation process goes beyond resumes. We assess each candidate’s relevant experience, technical capabilities, and alignment with the responsibilities of the position. When a role requires security eligibility, export-control screening, certifications, or other qualifications, we coordinate the applicable screening and verification requirements with the client and, where relevant, authorized security personnel.

We offer a range of defense services

Contract Staffing

When task orders add positions, program requirements change, or fielding schedules outpace available resources, Equiliem provides qualified professionals who help defense organizations maintain coverage, program performance, and operational continuity. Our defense staffing draws on candidates whose screening is already underway, so badging becomes the last step rather than a long wait.

Find Talent Now

Direct Hire Recruiting

For long-term hiring needs, we help defense organizations identify engineers, logisticians, analysts, security professionals, and program specialists whose experience aligns with the platform, customer, position requirements, and organizational environment. A specialized defense recruiter evaluates candidates against the security eligibility and program experience the role actually requires.

Build Your Team

Executive Search

Program executives and senior defense leaders are often succeeding in their current organizations rather than actively pursuing new opportunities. Our executive search team uses targeted, confidential outreach and established industry relationships to identify leaders with the experience required to guide complex programs and organizations. Defense headhunters operate in a specialized community where program experience, security requirements and professional reputation all matter. Our team builds long-term relationships across primes, subcontractors and defense organizations, helping us discreetly engage experienced leaders whose backgrounds align with the programs and organizations they would lead.

Find Leadership

Workforce Management

As defense programs scale, workforce complexity can grow alongside them. Equiliem helps organizations manage contingent labor through Employer of Record and payrolling solutions, independent contractor (IC) compliance, and other workforce management solutions designed to create greater consistency, visibility, and control.

Whether supporting specialized project talent, former employees returning as consultants, or workers sourced directly by your team, we help manage the employment, onboarding, compliance, and administrative responsibilities behind the workforce. The result is a more structured approach that helps defense organizations access the talent they need while reducing administrative burden and supporting program continuity.

Why trust Equiliem with your defense roles

Defense programs can require careful coordination across personnel security, employment screening, export-control requirements, and contract-specific onboarding. Depending on the position and program, our process may include employment eligibility verification, background screening, drug testing, fingerprinting coordination, certification review, and documentation related to applicable export-control requirements. For positions requiring security eligibility or access, we coordinate with the appropriate authorized security personnel to confirm applicable status and support the screening, transfer, and onboarding process. We also handle candidate information according to applicable contractual, organizational, and information-security requirements.

See what our defense clients say about us

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Finding cleared people is the whole job now, I don't care what anyone says about sourcing tools. Equiliem sent us candidates whose eligibility our security office could confirm without chasing anything. We hired two engineers off their first slate and both badged without drama. My last vendor once sent me someone whose eligibility had lapsed years earlier, so yes, I noticed the difference.
Rick D., Director of Engineering at a defense prime
As the FSO I'm the one who inherits every screening shortcut somebody else took. With Equiliem's people the fingerprints were done, the paperwork was complete, and US-person status was documented for the ITAR work before I ever saw the file. I got through our last vulnerability assessment without a personnel finding, and I'd like to keep it that way.
Sandra M., Facility Security Officer at an aerospace supplier
We're a sub, so when the prime says fill the seat, there's no negotiating the date. Equiliem got a cleared systems admin into a seat we'd been carrying vacant for two months, and the prime's program manager finally took us off the risk slide. That slide matters more than people outside this business would ever guess.
Joe T., Operations Manager at a defense subcontractor
The PSO they placed for us set up our first classified program basically from a blank sheet. I couldn't have told you half of what needed to exist, and she just built it. We passed the government's review on the first pass. For a company our size that was the difference between growing into this market and getting escorted back out of it.

Equiliem is there when you need us

For more than 30 years, Equiliem has helped organizations build and maintain the workforce behind North America’s critical infrastructure, including the defense programs that support national security and operational readiness.

As a family-owned company, we approach client relationships with long-term accountability, responsive service, and consistent support. Whether helping stand up a new task order, address a critical vacancy, or build a long-term team, we work to understand the program environment and support staffing needs throughout the life of the contract.

We've completed searches for a variety of defense roles

Systems Engineer

A defense program lost a senior systems engineer to a competitor and could not carry the seat, and the eligibility the work required ruled out nearly every applicant the posting produced. We submitted three qualified candidates within two weeks, and the program hired one in 21 days total. Security onboarding ran without a break, so the program office never saw the gap on a status report.

Logistics Analyst

A depot-level maintenance contract fell behind on parts provisioning after two analysts left in the same quarter. We placed a logistics analyst with depot experience in 14 days, and the provisioning backlog was worked down before the next program management review, so what could have been a finding became a footnote.

Program Security Officer

A mid-size subcontractor won its first classified task and needed a program security officer to stand up the security program before work could begin. We placed an experienced PSO in 20 days, and she had the facility paperwork and personnel files ready when the government ran its review. Work started on schedule, which for a first classified contract is not the usual story.

Field Service Technician

A radar sustainment program needed a field service technician willing to cover three sites on a rotation nobody on the incumbent team wanted. We found a technician who had done exactly that rotation in a prior job and placed him in 12 days. A year later he is still on the road, and the sites stopped escalating coverage gaps to the program manager.
